Logi Bundals › Courier rate calculator

Courier rate calculator: one way to work out a price.

Two people at the same counter should not quote two prices for the same parcel. Logi Bundals keeps each vendor's rate sheet, adds fuel, your cut and GST the same way every time, and shows the result for any country and weight.

Screens on this page show the demo company, Sahyadri Express Couriers, Pune.

The calculation

Four lines, always in this order.

The same sum runs on the rate board, in a quote, and again at the moment of booking.

  1. The vendor's price per kg

Each vendor has one price per kg for each country, loaded by pasting lines or from an Excel or CSV file. The weight is rounded up to the next half kilo, and the least is 0.5 kg.

  2. The vendor's fuel surcharge

Each vendor carries its own fuel surcharge percentage. It is added on top of the price for the weight. Together they are your cost.

  3. Your cut

One percentage for the company, with a minimum in rupees. On each price the portal takes whichever is more. On a small parcel the minimum protects you.

  4. GST, then the price

GST is added on cost plus cut. The rate starts at 18% and is marked "verify". The total is what the customer pays, and it is the amount on the invoice made with the booking.

Managing the sheets

Old rates cannot be quoted by mistake.

Each vendor shows how old its sheet is. Up to 14 days it is marked "Fresh", after that "Old". Past 30 days it is "Hidden from quotes": the vendor still appears in a price list, greyed out, with the age of its sheet, and cannot be picked.

When a new sheet moves a country's price by more than 15% from the one before, the portal names that country in the message after publishing. The new price is in use at once, so that message is the moment to check for a typing mistake.

A partner linked on Network has no sheet to load. Its price is read from the partner's own rates each time you quote.

Rates are per country, for parcels going abroad. There is no domestic zone or pincode tariff.

Plainly

What it does, and what it does not.

It is a calculator fed by your own vendors' sheets. It does not know any carrier's public tariff.

It does
  • One price per kg per country for each vendor, from pasted lines or a file
  • Fuel surcharge per vendor, your cut with a minimum, then GST
  • A rate board at 0.5 kg, 5 kg and 10 kg with the cheapest vendor
  • Every vendor's price for one parcel, lowest first
  • Sheets older than 30 days kept out of quotes
  • Cost and cut hidden from staff who have no money app
It does not
  • Read a sheet with weight slabs or zones as it comes. It needs country, price per kg and days
  • Hold a domestic pincode or zone tariff
  • Work out volumetric weight from box sizes. You type the weight to charge
  • Keep a separate price list for each customer. There is one cut for the company
  • Fetch rates from a carrier's website or account
  • Let staff type a different price while booking

Questions about the rate calculator

Is this a public courier charges calculator?

No. It works out your own selling price from the sheets your vendors give you. The same sum can answer the quote box on your own page, which you switch on under Website & Apps.

Can I upload my vendor's Excel sheet?

Yes, as .xlsx or .csv under 700 KB, with the country in column A, the price per kg in column B and the days in column C. Header rows are skipped.

Can two staff members quote different prices?

Not for the same vendor, country and weight. The price is worked out by the portal each time, and again when the parcel is booked.

How do I change a price for one customer?

There is no price per customer today. A change to the cut applies to every quote.

Can I start using it today?

Not yet. The portal is being prepared for launch. The sign-up page and the demo page always show whether they are open.

What does it cost?
