COD money passes through a rider's pocket before it reaches the counter. Logi Bundals writes each amount under the rider's name when the parcel is marked delivered, adds the counter cash, and closes the day once against the cash you count.
Screens on this page show the demo company, Sahyadri Express Couriers, Pune.
Each line in the day's ledger carries the time, the person who entered it and, for rider money, the rider's name.
A delivery is added with the parcel number, receiver, rider and the COD to collect. When it is marked delivered, by the office or by the rider on his phone, the COD amount is added to the ledger as "COD" with the parcel number, under that rider's name.
A pickup can carry an amount to collect. When the customer's 4-digit PIN confirms the pickup, the amount is added the same way. Until then it counts under "Cash still to collect".
Staff add an entry with a direction, an amount and a note: a walk-in booking paid in cash, fuel money given to a courier boy, a rider handing in what he collected.
One person types the cash counted in the drawer. The portal compares it with cash in minus cash out and keeps both figures and the difference. The day is then shut: no entry can be added to it.
How much should be in the drawer right now? The figure at the top is cash in today minus cash out today. Yesterday's leftover is typed as the first entry of the morning, the way the demo company does with "Opening balance".
How much is each rider holding? "From riders today" adds up every entry made under a rider's name. On the Delivery screen, COD collected and COD still out are shown side by side.
Did yesterday tally? "Last day close" shows the difference and the date of the last close. Every close, with the expected and counted amounts, is also written to the owner's edit log.
These are the demo company's own rows for one day.
It is a cash book with names on it. It is not a bank reconciliation tool.
The delivery is still marked delivered, but the COD is not added to the closed day. The office types it as a cash entry the next morning, with the rider's name.
Yes. You type what you counted. The difference is saved with the close and shows on the screen the next morning. Nothing forces the two figures to agree.
No. A COD amount is recorded as cash against the rider. The portal has no separate entry for COD paid in another way.
No. The rider page shows only his own pickups and deliveries, and the cash he is holding.
Not yet. The portal is being prepared for launch. The sign-up page and the demo page always show whether they are open.
